Happy Halloween!!!

We took Ethan to Glo's annual Halloween party on Saturday. He was dressed as a pea pod and was so adorable. A little warm maybe, but adorable.

Fall Days

We took Ethan and Chloe to the park on one of the last warmer days of the year. It was so nice to get out of the house.

Ethan's Girlfriend

Michelle had Karli a week before Ethan was born, so it looks like Ethan already has a girlfriend. She is so adorable!!!

New Names

Weird, we are now mom and dad. That will take awhile to get used to. It is a lot different from when I talk to Chloe and refer to Joe as "dad". I need to stop doing that. Here are some pics of Ethan meeting his new family. So far everything is going well, Ethan has gained 11 ounces since his last appointment 3 days ago. And I was worried about him eating enough.
Meeting Chloe for the first time. She has been amazing and is reluctantly accepting the fact that she is number two now.

Happy Birthday Ethan!

Ethan Joseph Rosa was born on October 9th, 2007 at 5:09 pm. He weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce and was 21.5 inches long. He is so handsome and we have absolutely fallen in love with him.
Thank you to everyone who has come to visit us, brought us food, and sent gifts for Ethan. It is so much appreciated! I don't know what we would do without all our family and friends here to help us out. Really, I can't even imagine.

My water broke around 3:00 am on October 9th. I was just laying in bed and it woke me up. I had been telling Joe that most people's water doesn't brake and if it does, it will just slowly leak. (He was very worried about his new car) Well, I was very wrong...it broke and just didn't stop. We had to put garbage bags and towels on the seat of the car and that didn't even help much.

We had to go in right away since I tested positive for Group B Strep and I had to be hooked up to antibiotics for 8 hours before having the baby. They set us up in a triage room because no rooms were available and started me on pitocin since I wasn't having very regular contractions. Well, that did the trick and by about 7:00 I wanted my epidural. They couldn't give it to me since I wasn't in my room yet so I had to wait. That was not a fun "few minutes" until my room was ready. It was really at least an hour...they lied.

Finally, around 9:00 they had a room for me and I was able to get the epidural. What an amazing invention. By noon I was 10 cm and ready to start pushing. I pushed for a couple of hours but he was stuck. His head was turned in a weird direction.

I had been running a fever since I had gotten to the hospital and his heartrate had been decelerating with most of my contractions, so they wanted to get him out. They took me in to have a c-section around 3:30 and he was born at 5:09. They took Ethan over to clean him up and he immediately peed all over Joe. That was the first of many showers Joe continues to receive from his new baby.

Ethan also had a fever when he was born, so both he and I had to be on antibiotics for at least 48 more hours. He had to stay in the NICU and have an IV to get the antibiotics until his test results came back to say whether or not he had an infection. He was only able to leave the NICU to feed which was really hard. I hated not having him there with us and not many visitors got to see him or hold him. Luckily the tests came back negative so he was taken off the IV and he was able to come home with us on Saturday.

No baby yet...

October 7th, my due date, and no baby yet! I had an ultrasound a couple of days ago and the baby is estimated to be 8 pounds 3 ounces. So, anytime would be good! They won't induce until at least 41 weeks so hopefully I go into labor before that.
