Happy First Birthday Mallory!!!

What a difference a year makes!  I cannot believe my baby is one.  The last year has been amazing and I can't even remember life without her in it.  She has grown into such a little girl.  She is 24 pounds and 32 inches tall...almost as big as her brother at that age.  She walks, runs and climbs up on everything.  She falls down and gets right back up.  She climbs into things, out of things and under things.  She keeps up with her brother and gives him a run for his money.

It is so fun to see Mallory and Ethan play together now.  Unfortunately he wants to play "football", "bumper cars", and "kung fu panda".  Not exactly what she has in mind I don't think.  Needless to say she gets tossed around a lot.  He is really good with her though.  He tells me when she is climbing the stairs, putting things in her mouth, taking things out of drawers or when she has "great big huge snotties coming out both sides of her nose".  He is always telling her how much he loves her and she still smiles and laughs more at him than anyone else.  He will go in her room when she wakes up and she is just so excited to see him.  It is so fun to watch.

She also loves her Daddy.  She has yet to say mama, but she has said dada since she was about 6 months old.  She sees him and just waves her little arm off and says dadadadada.  She even said Daddy a few times recently also.  She has a few other words that come and go.  She seems to say them for awhile and then move on to something new.  Ball and doggy have been two of her favorites.  She gives Chloe huge kisses and doesn't even care that she comes away with a mouthful of hair.  She can quack like a duck, woof like a dog and roar like a lion.

She loves to dance and is pretty good at it, just like her mommy :-)  Her and Ethan fighting over the toy guitar is a daily occurrence.  She dances and dances and then claps for herself when she is done.  She loves to play with her baby dolls, pack her diaper bag and take her baby for a ride in the stroller.  She loves going for walks and riding in her little car.  She cooks me dinner in her little kitchen.

Mallory is still the messiest eater on the planet.  There is no hope of keeping her clean.  She rubs food in every crevasse she can find.  If she is drinking her milk she shakes it all over.  She needs a bath after every meal.  She does love her food though...she no longer wants anything to do with baby food.  She really doesn't even want her food cut up.  If I hand her an entire peanut butter and jelly sandwich, the excitement on her face is priceless.  She looks at it like it is the best thing in the world just before she shoves it all over her face.

She has brought us so much joy and laughter over this past year.  I cannot wait to see what this next year brings.  She has such a strong personality and is already so naughty that I know it will be an interesting one.  She is definitely going to keep us on our toes.  If only she would start sleeping better at night, I would be more awake during the day to keep up with her...

Just chillin

4th of July

We went to my parents' new lake house for the 4th of July.  It was the first time we spent the night with both kids and everything went well.  I think my mom was a little tired of playing Chuck and Friends by the end of the weekend but we all had fun.  We brought Chloe with us and her and Ethan had a blast playing in the lake.  She was exhausted and loving every minute of the water.

We also celebrated Shannon's 30th birthday that weekend.  Happy Birthday Shannon!!!!

Happy 4th of July!

Cheese!

We took Ethan down to let Chloe play in the lake....I don't know what made me think for even a second that he wouldn't be in there with her.

He didn't even care that he didn't have his bathing suit on

Our Backyard Baby

Ethan and Mallory got a new swingset which is currently surrounded by dirt and mud.  I really can't wait to have grass.  Anyway, we were out there the past couple of days and there are two baby deer who come up to the edge of the woods to watch us.  I am a little nervous about where there mother is and what she will do if she comes back and sees her babies three feet away from us.  So far so good.  One of them even posed for a picture for me when I was taking a couple of Ethan.
