Helping With the Move

Just a couple of pictures from moving day.  They are actually moving this mattress IN to the house.  The neighbors must have thought we were crazy.  Our king size mattress wouldn't fit into the apartment so we had to borrow one from my parents.  We put the larger one in strorage so we slept on this in the family room for a week before we moved out.

These pictures make me laugh because the other day when we were putting Ethan to bed, we put him in a sleeveless shirt like the one in the picture.  He said "I look just like Uncle Kevin when he looses his sleeves".  It is funny because they seem to have both lost their sleeves in these pictures.  At least Ethan didn't cut his off himself.

Ethan Quote #15

We were on our way home from my parents and I turned right to go to the apartment instead of left to go to our old house...

Ethan:  "Mom, where are we going?"
Me:  "We are going to the apartment"  (I must have said this in my disgusted, I hate the apartment voice)
Ethan:  "Mom, home is where the heart is...and the heart is where I love you"

Really?  Okay, tell me that every day and I don't care if I live in an igloo.

We're Moving!

As if we don't have enough going on right now, we decided to put our house up for sale.  We knew we would want to move into a bigger house within the next couple of years and since the interest rates are so low right now, we figured we would see what would happen if we put our house up for sale now.  Well, what happened was that we sold it in less than four weeks.  I am so grateful that it sold, but that meant that we were now homeless.  We have decided to build not far from where we are now.  They just started digging this week and should be done around October.

We moved our things into storage and ourselves into an apartment over Memorial Day weekend.  It is us, Ethan's toys, and a pack n play for Mallory to sleep in.  It has been a very busy few weeks and it is a bit of an adjustment living here.  Ethan has more bumps and bruises from running into things in the small space. 

Leaving our house was pretty traumatic.  I cried as I said goodbye and took pictures of every room.  Then I made Joe go back when I realized I forgot to take pictures of the wall in the closet where we have been tracking Ethan's height.  The first thing I am buying for the new house is a growth chart that is not part of the wall.

I Forgot We Went to Florida

We took a vacation to Florida after Easter. I forgot that I never posted pictures. We wanted to take Ethan down one more time before the baby comes. We had a great time. We went to the beach on one of the first days and a wave knocked him into the water. From then on, nobody was allowed in the ocean. "Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, Grandpa, random people, birds and fish...come OUT of the water!" Luckily he still loved the pool. We will try again next time.

Mostly, we just relaxed, ate and shopped. Perfect vacation for me! It just happened that my friend Vikki was also getting married down there the weekend we were there. It was just her and her husband so she asked if we could come and take pictures. Here are a couple from the ceremony...

At Outback eating dinner...

Ethan: Where is Daddy?
Me: He is in the bathroom
Ethan: He is in there dropping his juice again

Then later when he had to go potty, he asked Joe to take him to the bathroom and show him where he dropped his juice at. Really buddy, you don't want to see that.
