Mallory is one month old! Time sure is going faster with the second one. We have had an interesting last couple of weeks. Ethan had a small fever and a pretty good cold a couple of weeks back. We kept an eye on Mallory in case she were to get sick too. Well, she was sleeping a lot one day and I was thinking she felt warm so we called the doctor. They said if her fever goes up to call. It went up over night and we were told to take her to the emergency room. I took her while Joe stayed home with Ethan. I had no idea that any fever over 100.4 (hers was 100.5) meant automatic admittal to the hospital. It was horrible...they had to do a spinal tap four times and do blood and urine tests. We had to stay three days in order to get the results back and they started her on iv antibiotics right away. The tests finally came back that she had a urinary tract infection. So that meant three more days in the hospital and a bunch more tests on my poor little baby. The infection cleared up and all the other tests came back normal. So we just have to keep an eye on her now in case it comes back.
She is a tough little girl. Way tougher than her mommy that's for sure. She handled everything really well and we pray that it was just a one time thing and that there won't be anymore hospital trips for us.
